Website Templates
I am not good at designing so I always use free website template to build website. There are thousands of website templates available on the internet and some of them are really very good like a work of art. Therefore, I suggest you to use website templates until you are able to design perfect websites. There are a few perfect looking website templates available for free at the bottom of the page.
Basic Info About Website Templates and Its Files
After you downloaded, extract website template files into a folder and rename the folder. Here is an example of website template files extracted into My_Website folder.
As you see from the image above, a folder which is named My_Website contains website template's files.
My_Website Folder: It is called Root Folder because it contains all files and folders that belongs to website.
index: This is a website because it has a .html suffix. index.html file is also used as homepage because when you visit a website, you will shown index.html page. Other page name's can be different but homepage's filename must be index.html. Therefore, we won't change index.html file's name.
images and css Folders: These folders contain images and some files but we will not use or delete them. Let them stay where they are.
